Ronald G. "Ron" Meister, Jr.

June 16, 1966 — January 2, 2026

Green Township

Ronald G. "Ron" Meister, Jr., 59, Jan. 2, 2026, Green Township. Beloved husband of Dawn M. Kehres Meister, devoted father of Olivia R. & Zach A. Meister, beloved son of Barbara A. Sturgill Snyder & Ronald G. Meister, Sr., brother of Geri Meister, Jeanne (Cordel) George, Jo (Dustin) Gehring & Amanda (Brent) Beal. Also survived by nieces & nephews, great nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins & a multitude of friends. Ron was an '84 graduate of Taylor High School, and served as a police officer for 21 years. He continued his dedication to public safety as the “Galls Guy” through his time as a salesman of police and fire safety uniforms and equipment. Through his career journey he formed lifelong friendships with coworkers and customers all the same. He was widely known as the Director of Football Operations at Roger Bacon High School, but he served as so much more than that. His joy was fully embraced by the Roger Bacon community where he was welcomed and often known as “Mr. Positive.” He served as a leader of these young men and a father figure to many. He was always so dedicated to help in any way and lend support to those in need. His memberships included the Taylor High School Alumni Assn. & FOP Lodge #69.

In 2021, and again in 2025, Mike Dyer of WCPO told Ron’s story through his connection to Roger Bacon football. Those stories meant more to Ron than anyone could ever fully understand. When Ron no longer looked like himself, when his body no longer reflected the man he had always been, he would share those news videos with his medical staff. He wanted them to see him, not the person confined to a hospital bed, but the coach, the mentor, the proud part of a football family. Those videos captured the heart of who Ron was, and through them, he made sure people knew that the illness did not define him. Thank you, Mike for sharing Ron’s story.

Thank you to the Roger Bacon community for extending an outpouring of love and support. Our hearts have been filled with gratitude, and we are truly appreciative of the kindness shown to our family. Spartan Courage Never Yields!

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many health care professionals at Good Samaritan who became like family during Ron’s cancer journey. This includes Dr. Alsidawi, Dr. Rabatic, and Dr. Wilson; his fun and caring radiation therapists who brought laughter and light to difficult days; and the amazing infusion nurses, who are truly angels. Special thanks to speech therapists Ellie and Erin; the respiratory therapists, especially his favorite, Kirsty; dietitians Corinne and Nancy; special friend and chaplain Jennifer; and nurses Erica & Halina and specialty care coordinator Shanea, who worked tirelessly to ensure he received the pain management he so greatly needed.

We are deeply grateful for the love and support shown by the staff at Bayley Senior Care, Bayley Adult Day and Bayley Wellness Center. Thank you to the amazing staff at Hospice of Cincinnati for their compassion and kindness.

Even in his death, Ron was thinking of others. Through his decision to be an organ and tissue donor, his generosity continues beyond his own life. Ron would be deeply moved to know that, because of him, several people will now be able to see the world through his eyes. In this final act of selflessness, Ron is still giving, still making a difference, just as he always did.
