John "J.R." Raymond Knight

John “J.R.” Raymond Knight, 77, Jan. 14, 2022, Cleves, Ohio. Devoted father of Meredith (Tim) Griffin & Allison (Ben) Hause, loving grandfather of Braden, Gavin, Lyla & Landon, son of the late Dorothy (nee Robison) Walstrom & Beryl Knight, dear brother of Jo Ann Bradford & the late Douglas Knight. He was also preceded in death by his faithful companions, dogs Butch and Benny. John graduated from Taylor High School and Kentucky Wesleyan with a Chemical Engineering degree. But what he was most proud of was spending 2 years at his beloved “The” Ohio State University where he walked on as a freshman to the football team. John retired from the oil and gas industry after spending his entire career working for various companies in many different countries. This created a love of travel for John who enjoyed scuba diving around the world. Even though he traveled the globe, his favorite place of all was Curtis, Michigan in the UP, where he spent his childhood summers and learned his love of fishing. In recent years, John moved back to the Cincinnati area where he filled his days with phone conversations with his family and friends. It brought him great joy to connect with his loved ones. Visitation Fri., Jan. 28 from 1 PM - 2:00 PM at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami Ave., Cleves, OH 45002. A graveside service will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleves.
