Hans Joachim Papke

 

My charming talented smart diplomatic husband, exceptional Artist, Father, Grand-father and Great-Grandfather and Best Friend left us. (We were simply meant to be together) and have had much fun and success, plus the fact that Hans did the Holiday Train Show at Duke Energy for 49 years,  

 

Big Fan of FC Bayern and FC Cincinnati  let alone the Munich Sister City Association , The McDowell Society,  Cincinnati Rotary Club and last but not least an accomplished Artist

 

 Father to Annette Kern (Jeff Kern), Evelyn Daumeyer, and Michele Westrich (Doug Westrich) , Opa to Samantha Geiger (Damian), plus Alexander Kern, Jake Westrich and Vanessa, Jonah and  Urgrossvater (Great Grandfather) to Gwen Scheie.

 

Just one quote from a former Colleague at Duke Energy and fellow Rotarian Steve Brash: “ The train display was always  always bright and different each year and every year. Only a few of us knew how he reused old set pieces and stretched every dollar to make something kids of all ages returned year after year to see.  He made  the Holiday Train the Community icon that it became.
