George G. Nielsen, 78, May 14, 2025, Moores Hill, IN. Beloved husband of Rose E. Nielsen (nee Ashcraft), devoted father of Tammy Jones (Dan), Sharon Nielsen, Mamie Kyle & Rose Vandygriff (James), loving grandfather of Kattie, Samantha, Zack, Joshua, Alan, Marie, Jessica, Alex & Anna, loving gr. grandfather of 14, beloved son of the late June Snow (nee Mack), dear brother of Clifford, June, Deanna & Paul, grandson of the late Catherine Mack. George was a member of North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM, Knights Templar & Scottish Rite.

George proudly served in the US Navy in Vietnam. He saw action in the 1968 Tet Offensive. The Tet Offensive was a series of surprise attacks on US & allied forces. During the attacks US patrol boats & supply ships were assaulted in the Vietnamese canal/river systems. Important supplies like food, medicine & ammunition could only be delivered on supply ships. Mr. Nielsen spent much of his time on patrol boats escorting & defending the much-needed deliveries on these ships.

Visitation Thurs., May 22, 10 AM until the time of the Masonic service at 11:45 AM. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves, OH 45002.
