Beloved husband of Linda Cornett (nee Robinson), dear father of Stephanie Cornett (Will Benson), Melanie (Tim) Sizemore, Raymond Cornett (Alyssa Meiszinger), & the late infant daughter Taronda Cornett, loving grandfather of Ashley (Ric) Noel, Aaron Blake Elliott, Courtney Tyler, Chelsea Tyler, Tim (LaRain Owen) Sizemore, Jacob (Bethany) Bryant, Nicole (Anthony) McQuinn, Michael (Hailey Sizemore) Sizemore, great grandfather of Jada Murphy, Haidyn Noel, Bianca Noel, Pypier Noel, Quynn Noel, Scarlett Tyler, Maya Williams, Luna Elliott, Emma McQuinn, & great great grandfather of Kiyah Murphy, beloved son of the late Contance Iona (nee Justice) & Ellis R. Cornett Sr.,dear brother of Penelope (Ford) Shumate & Michael (Freda) Cornett. Ellis loved his family with a fierce love. He was honored to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Above all, he loved and served God. He was a preacher who shined the light of God to all and touched the lives of many with his ministry. In his own words, he was "Kentucky born & proud! Where the tea is sweet & accents are sweeter, summer starts in April, front porches are wide & words are long, macaroni & cheese is a vegetable pecan pie is a staple, yall is a proper pronoun, chicken is fried, & biscuits come with gravy, everything is darling & someone is always getting their heart blessed. And basketball is a way of life. I'm Pikeville born and Chloe Creek raised." To us, he was our hero, our guiding light and often our taxi driver.
