Christy Lynn Costa, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2026, after relentlessly fighting Ovarian cancer for eight years. A lifelong Westsider, she was born in Cincinnati, OH.

Christy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Richard Costa and her parents, Neva Haynes and Thomas Thaxton. She is survived by her loving children Kyle, Travis, and Austin Costa, her sister Lisa Berling (nee Thaxton), and her brother Daniel Thaxton.

Christy's greatest roles in life were being a devoted wife and a loving mother. She was spiritual in her beliefs and cherished her family above all else. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Fernbank Indoor Lodge 50 Thornton Avenue. Remembrances may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) at https://ocrahope.org or flowers sent directly to Fernbank Indoor Lodge after 2:00 p.m. on January 22.
