Rainer E. "Ray" Korte, 89, Nov. 17, 2020, Harrison. Beloved husband of Carol Ann Korte (nee Schindler), devoted father of Beth Koss (Christopher), Kent Korte (Lynne), Chris Korte (Donna), Niel Korte (Terri) & Lisa Belcher (Scott), beloved son of the late Cecelia (nee Tallen) & Herman Korte, dear brother of Daria Luebbe (the late Fred); Brendan (Martha), Quentin (the late Marilyn) & the late Justin (the late Charlotte) & Kenneth Korte; Margaret Cook (the late Albert) & Hilary Manley (the late William). Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Ray was a '49 graduate of Elder HS, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Korean War Veterans Assn. Chapter 121 & the Amvets. He had a career in sales with the Outboard Marine Corp. Ray's interests including growing dahlias, playing the piano & ukulele. He was always ready to greet you with a funny story or joke. Mass of Christian Burial Tues., Nov. 24, 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 25 E. Harrison, North Bend, OH 45052. Entombment following, with military honors, in St. Joseph Old Cemetery. So that our family and friends can gather to mourn safely, we ask you to wear a mask, and refrain from hugging and shaking hands. In the summer of 2021, when Ray's dahlias are blooming, and the pandemic restrictions are lifted, everyone will be invited to a Celebration of Life to honor, remember and celebrate Ray's long and happy life.
