Bernice Cole Reamer, 86, beloved wife of Everett Dee Reamer of North Bend, OH peacefully met her sweet Savior on March 08, 2017 with Everett by her side at Pristine Senior Living Three Rivers Care Center.
Born November 27th 1930, up on Richland in the beautiful hills of Knox County Kentucky, She was the youngest daughter of Reverend George (Pa) and Della Hammons(Ma) Cole.
Bernice attended Tedders School, a one room school house up on Richland until the family moved to Lily specifically to afford her a high school education where she graduated from Lily High in 1948. Bernice was born a true Blue Blood – Wild Cat Blue that is – and introduced her love of Kentucky Basketball to all her nephews and nieces. Her love and enthusiasm for her beloved Wildcats was a true joy to witness.
As a young career woman her jobs included dispatch for the Louisville Police department, working with Nick Clooney in broadcast radio, and managing an Olan Mills portrait studio where she met her devoted husband Everett Reamer. Bernice was also a non-traditional student in the 1980’s where she graduated Empire College as Valedictorian with a perfect 4.0.
Her many years as a home maker for Everett, E.C., and Melissa included community posts such as Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and Realtor.
She is survived by her loving husband Everett Reamer and their two children, Everett Clay Reamer (Cindy) and Melissa Carol Reamer Ludwig (Dave); Betty Reamer Kadar (Everett’s stepdaughter), Frank Barnowski, son in law, and their families consisting of 5 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, the newest of which was born moments before her death – they met in the clouds.
Bernice is preceded in death by all of her 10 siblings: Lenard, Stella, Letch, Bill, Luke, James Matt, Sue, Lockie, George, and Dave. She is also preceded in death by her step daughters; Violet Reamer Mycek and Marjorie Reamer Barnowski, Vi’s husband Patrick and their eldest son Dennis along with many of her beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday March 14th, , 2017 at the Dennis George Funeral Home in Cleves, OH. Visitation begins at 11:00 A.M. Funeral follows at 1:00 officiated by Pastor Steven Cole of Corbin, Ky.
